My pedagogy is based around the principle that students are individual learners with individual learning needs. Therefore, the instructional practices, structures, and strategies in my classroom should support the concept of individualized instruction through authentic inquiry. In my case, the science classes that I teach should encourage questioning, defining problems, investigating, gathering data, analyzing data, creating an explanation or solution and revising experiments when they are unsuccessful.
In doing so, students are able to take ownership over their own learning and develop stronger self-efficacy in the classroom. The integration of technology and focus on the 4C's of 21st century learning (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity) will prepare students for college and beyond.
